There Is Never An Excuse

If you read the statistics, domestic violence has reached epidemic proportions in our society. By domestic violence, I’m thinking of every kind of coercive, controlling behaviour, physical or emotional, used by one person to exert power or control over another. Sadly, it is as prevalent amongst Christians as it is amongst non-Christians. The difference is that abusers who claim to be Christians often try to twist the bible to justify their actions.

One of the most powerful questions that we can ask is, “What if…?” This is the question that enables us to imagine a different future, to see an opportunity for change, or to try something new. It gives us a glimpse of what life might be like if we did things differently, and the ways that our lives, and the lives of those around us, might be better.

Grateful and Inspired

Last Friday I was privileged to speak and pray at a Police Remembrance Day ceremony here in Young. We gathered at Young Cemetery, at the newly restored graves of four police officers, each of whom lost their lives serving this community over 100 years ago.
